Lawrence Man Arrested in Quincy for Possessing Over 50 Bags of Heroin, Over 100 Bags of Cocaine

A Lawrence man was taken into custody after conducting a drug deal in West Quincy, police said.

QUINCY, MA — A Lawrence man was taken into custody after conducting a drug deal in West Quincy, police said.

Omar Irizarry-Onnexy, 28, of Lawrence, faces charges of trafficking heroin, trafficking over 36 grams of cocaine, operating with a revoked license, and giving a false name, according to the Quincy Police Department.

Wednesday, Quincy detectives observed allegedly observed drug transaction between a man known to them and the operator of a gray minivan, identified as Irizarry-Onnexy.

During a traffic stop, police approached the vehicle and spoke with Irizarry-Onnexy. A K9 detected drugs in the cargo area of the vehicle, as well as the groin area of Irizarry-Onnexy . The Lawrence admitted to detectives that he had narcotics hidden in his underwear and multiple bags of cocaine and heroin. More bags of drugs were located in the vehicle, police said.

Officers recovered about 32 grams of heroin in 52 bags and about 53 grams of powder and crack cocaine in 104 bags. Detectives also seized over $1,100 and two cell phones.

Irizarry-Onnexy originally identified himself as Anthony Bernabel, but a fingerprint analysis determined he did not give his real name.

Irizarry-Onnexy also had two outstanding warrants.
