Mayor Koch Proposes Rezoning Train Stations

Mayor Koch has asked the city council to approve "transit-oriented districts" at three MBTA stations.

QUINCY, MA — Mayor Thomas Koch is hoping to rezone the areas around three Quincy train stations.

The Patriot Ledger reports that Koch has asked the city council to approve "transit-oriented districts" at the stations. The proposed zoning would allow for denser projects and buildings up to 10 stories high. The zoning would apply to Quincy Adams, Wollaston, and North Quincy.

Koch plans to introduce the proposal Monday night at the city council's next meeting.
