SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests. For creatives and textile arts enthusiasts, SFD offers workshops in various fiber arts such as weaving, lace making, embroidery, millinery, upcycling, and more. As an SFD student, you will join a diverse community of emerging designers. Our studios are filled with recent high school graduates, students from nearby colleges enriching their education with fashion, and working professionals embarking on a new career path. SFD faculty and students are active partners in our local community, collaborating regularly with organizations and businesses through internships, exhibitions, field trips, and special events. Starting Thursday, Nov. 5, open gym sessions will be held at Central Middle School, located at 875 Hancock St. The sessions will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Can't make the first session? No need to worry! The fun will continue Nov. 12 and 19, giving students more opportunities to get in on the action. Attendees can hit the court for basketball, dodgeball and other sports while enjoying an evening of friendly competition. All Quincy middle school students are welcome to participate.
