No Council Vote on Chestnut Place

A 15-story building is proposed for the parking lot across from Quincy District Court.

QUINCY, MA — A vote on a proposed 15-story project will not come until early next month at the earliest.

Monday night, the Quincy City Council held a hearing on Chestnut Place, a building to be built across the street from Quincy District Court, according to the Patriot Ledger.The project includes a 675-700-spot parking garage.

The city is expected to have negotiations for the sale of the parking lot completed in time for the Jan 3. meeting, which is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Old City Hall.

If approved, the project is scheduled to be completed in 2019.

Seven residents spoke at the meeting, mostly against the project.
