Pedestrian Struck In Quincy Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries

QUINCY, MA —A Quincy man was fighting for his life Sunday night after being struck at the intersection of the Southern Artery and Broad Street late in the afternoon. Quincy police said Michael Valencia, 50, was transported to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver — a 39-year-old woman from Boston —remained on the scene and cooperated with police. Police have not said whether she has been charged.

Police said several 911 calls came in about 5 p.m. on Sunday reported that a pedestrian had been struck in the intersection. The Quincy Fire Department and Brewster Ambulance Service were among several area units that responded to the scene.

Quincy said crash remains under investigation by the Quincy Police Collision Reconstruction Unit. Anyone with any information about the crash is asked to contact the Quincy Police at 617-745-5824.
