Fireworks Injures Quincy Man's Hand: Cops
A preliminary investigation indicates that the incident involved illegal commercial-grade fireworks.

QUINCY, MA — Quincy emergency responders are at the scene of an accident on Smith Street.
Police say the accident involves an incendiary device and one person has been taken to the hospital with a serious hand injury.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the incident involved illegal commercial-grade fireworks, police said. The firework was identified as an M-80, which is illegal to possess.

A nearby neighbor who was home at the time of the explosion told Quincy Patch that residents have been on edge because the person who was taken to the hospital had been playing with fireworks for some time. When he heard the explosion, he called 911 under the assumption that it was due to fireworks gone wrong.
The incident remains under investigation.
