Quincy Council to Consider 15-Floor Residential Tower

QUINCY, MA — A public hearing will be held for a proposed 15-story residential tower.

Monday night, the board will hold the hearing for Chestnut Place, a new apartment building that includes 124 apartments of varying size, including studio, one-, and two-bedroom units, and first-floor retail shops, according to the Boston Globe. The proposal was first brought in front of the council on Dec. 12.

Under a land disposition agreement, the developer would start construction 90 days after closing and end 17 months later. Because the tower would be built where a parking garage currently stands, he would pay for a portion of a new garage that the city is building.

The hearing at City Hall is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
