Quincy Man Arrested in West Newton Stabbing

The victim was transported to an area hospital, police said.

NEWTON, MA – One suspect is in custody after a stabbing in West Newton Square, police said.

The victim was transported to an area hospital in Boston, according to police.

An assault was reported around 12:30 p.m. outside of the CVS Pharmacy on Watertown Street; the victim was able to walk to the pharmacy, where someone called police, WBZ reported.

Police told WBZ the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Chad Michael Kirby of Quincy, stayed at the scene and was arrested. A weapon was also recovered.

It is unknown at this time if the two men know each other, police said.
