BOSTON, MA — A man accused of killing the 2-year-old known as Baby Doe goes to trial next week.
Michael P. McCarthy, 36, of Quincy is being held without bale for the murder of his girlfriend’s daughter Bella Bond. Jury selection in Suffolk Superior Court starts Monday, according to WFXT.
Bella Bond's mother, Rachelle Bond, pleaded guilty in February to helping dispose of her daughter's body after her then-boyfriend allegedly killed the 2-year-old girl. She is scheduled to be sentenced after McCarthy's trial.

The girl introduced to the world as Baby Bella became known after a woman walking her dog along the beach found Bella’s remains in a trash bag on Deer Island Beach on June 25, 2015.
Bond told police that she saw McCarty killed her child after striking her in the abdomen in May or June of that year. The two were arrested in September after police received a tip.
