Quincy Man Charged With Attempted Murder Using Pellet Gun: Police

Quincy police said a city man was charged with armed assault with attempt to murder after a man was found shot in the eye on Nelson Street.

QUINCY, MA — A Quincy man is charged with armed assault with intent to murder, and a Peabody woman charged with interfering with a police officer and obstruction of justice, after Quincy police said they found a man shot in the eye with a high-powered pellet gun on Wednesday.

Police said officers responded to an apartment building on Nelson Street about 2:30 on Wednesday where they found a 33-year-old man suffering from a significant eye injury. Police said the suspect, Dennis Baker, 49, fled to his apartment within the building where he was taken into custody after police said they found the pellet gun in the grass below the window of his apartment.

Cristina Miller, 34, was also charged with interfering with the investigation at the scene.

Police said the victim was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for treatment.

Quincy police said the investigation continued Wednesday night.
