Quincy Man Charged With Crashing Into Boston Hubway Station

Witnesses told police that the vehicle crashed into the bike rack and drove away.

BOSTON, MA — A Quincy man will face charges for allegedly driving into a Hubway station on Boylston Street in Boston, police said.

Nebiyu Elias, 32, has been charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with property damage and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, according to the Boston Herald.

Witnesses told police that early Saturday morning, they saw a Cadillac driven by Elias crash into the Hubway station near Berkeley Street and drive away. Police found the vehicle and located Elias near the intersection of St. James Avenue and Clarendon Street.

Police say there is no indication that Elias was drinking prior to driving.

Elias was treated for non-life threatening injuries at Tufts Medical Center.

The Hubway station is closed and is expected to be operational next week.
