Quincy Man Ordered to Pay Over $34,000 Over Fake Yelp Reviews

QUINCY, MA — The son of a Qunicy jewelry store owner was ordered to pay $34,500 for posting a fake review on a competitor's Yelp page.
Adam Jacobs, an employee at Tooties Fine Jewelry in Quincy was taken to court by Stephen Blumberg, owner of Stephen Leigh Jewelers, who claimed that Jacobs wrote a review telling people go to else where. A jury determined that post caused "emotional distress” and ordered a substantial cash payment, according to WBZ.
Jacobs' father said he is happy the jury didn't hold the store responsible for any wrongdoing. His attorney said they may appeal the decision.
