Quincy Police To Offer Community Emergency Response Training

The eight-week CERT course will teach residents how to assist Quincy police and help in the case of an emergency or disaster situation.

QUINCY, MA — The Quincy Police Department and Brewster Ambulance is looking for volunteers to join its Community Emergency Response Team. Those interested are invited to take the CERT course beginning in February.

Topics covered in the course will include ways to help the community in an emergency, setting up and running evacuation shelters and ways to assist public safety professionals during disaster situations. The course meets in eight weekly sessions. Court registration is ongoing with Quincy residents having priority.
