Weymouth School Bus Crashes In Quincy; 1 Hurt

QUINCY, MA —A Weymouth school bus crashed into a utility pole in Quincy Monday morning, injuring the driver and knocking out power to more than 1,200 nearby homes and businesses. Quincy police said the driver's injury was not considered life-threatening. The driver was the only person on board. Quincy police said two other cars were also hit by the utility pole.

The pole snapped and ruptured power lines, causing outages to 1,255 in the area. Quincy Avenue from East Howard Street to Southern Artery was closed as crews worked to restore power. As of 2 p.m., Monday, power has been restored to all but 165 homes.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
