Woman Mugged In Russell Park: Quincy Police

Quincy police said the suspect threw the woman to the ground and stole money from her purse.

QUINCY, MA — Police are looking for a suspect they said mugged a woman Monday at Russell Park. Around 11:12 a.m., police were called to the park after the 49-year-old woman said she was walking the dirt path behind the tennis courts and was attacked from behind.

Police said the suspect threw the woman to the ground, grabbed money from her purse and ran away toward Faxon Field. The suspect also stole the woman's sneakers and jacket. She was transported to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Officers brought in a police dog to search the area. The canine unit found the woman's sneakers and jacket in a wooded area where the the suspect fled. Police checked the area but could not find the suspect.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his early 20s. He was bald, clean-shaven and wore a black hoodie with blue jeans and black shoes. Anyone with information is asked to call Quincy police at 617-479-1212.
