, 172 Main St. This flower and gift shop is a true North Reading "mom and pop" enterprise. Opened in 2008 by North Reading native Lee Macneil, the shop stocks an assortment of gifts, plants and fresh flowers. In addition, it features dish gardens, fruit and gourmet gift baskets, balloons, plush toys, candy and more.

, 172 Main St. Located next to Sports, Spirits and Steaks, Bayrd's Indian Trading Post specializes in Native American jewelry, artwork and crafts, including chokers and beaded jewelry. Handcrafted gifts and collectibles are specialties of the shop. It also provides custom-made jewelry items. Its owner and educator, Leonard Rose, is a North Reading resident and a Native American; he participates in Native American Pow Wows and other events throughout New England and posts these shows on the shop's website.

, 325 Main St. Located on Route 28 near the Andover town line, this store truly captures one's senses upon entering with its large assortment of fragrant candles, handmade chocolates and eye-catching array of bright holiday gift and decorative items, including a selection of jewelry and pashmina scarves. Wishing Well also features unique gift baskets for hostess gifts or housewarming, birthday, get well, thank you and other occasions. This shop is an authorized dealer of Byers Choice Carolers, Willow Tree, Yankee Candle, Colonial Candle of Cape Cod, Woodwick, Crabtree & Evelyn, Voluspa Candles, Aunt Sadies and Beanpod Soy Candles. 

, 204 Main St. Billed as "New England's Oldest Joke and Costume Shop," Joker's Wild is located on Route 28, across from Dental Health Concepts. There is also a second store on Route 114 in Danvers. Joker's Wild is a North Reading staple for Halloween costumes and theatrical gear; it stocks a vast array of accessories, including wigs, masks and makeup for TV, clowns and children. The store also carries jewelry, canes, leotards and more, as well as a full line of jokes and novelties.

, 6 Washington St. This is a resale boutique located at the Center at North Reading shopping plaza on Washington Street. It resells used furniture like vintage high chairs and kitchen tables as well as children's furniture. In addition, it sells home essentials such as dish sets and accessories such as jewelry and sunglasses. This location also sells designer clothing and purses, including pants, skirts, shoes, jeans and sweaters at affordable prices. It is open seven days a week.
