5 Things You Need to Know Today: March 11

Today is Friday, March 11. Here are five things you need to know:
- Who’ll stop the rain? It will be another soaker today. The National Weather Service predicts between one-half and three-quarters of an inch of rain is possible. The high temperature will be around 51 degrees. Rain is likely tonight as well, mainly before midnight.
- Vote Monday night: Remember, Monday night is the special Town Meeting to vote on . A quorum of 150 people is needed to hold the meeting, which is scheduled for Monday at 7 p.m. at the auditorium.
- Meet your elected officials: State Rep. Bradley H. Jones Jr. will hold office hours at the today from 1-2 p.m. Either Jones or a staff member will be on hand to speak with residents. No appointments are necessary.
- Last chance to catch the circus: If you haven’t seen it yet, you have two opportunities this weekend to see the North Reading High School Masquers and host a. Performances of the play are today and Saturday at 8 p.m. The winter carnival will begin at 4 p.m. each day. Visit the Masquers Club website for more information.
- I dub thee Sir Paul: On this date in 1997, former Beatle Paul McCartney was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his “service to music,” according to History.com.
