  1. Calm all around: According to the National Weather Service, today will feature sunny skies, with a high near 45 degrees. There will be increasing clouds tonight, with a low around 32.
  2. On the agenda: The Community Planning Commission meets today at 7:30 p.m. in Room 10 at .
  3. Time for a little recreation: North Reading Parks and Recreation has several events planned for the remainder of the month. If you are looking for something to do locally, check out the Parks and Recreation website for more information.
  4. An upward trend: The average price of a gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded gas rose again in Massachusetts, according to AAA Southern New England. The price is up three cents over last week, to $3.47 per gallon. The cheapest gallon of self-serve regular in North Reading as of Monday afternoon was $3.46 at Stop & Shop, according to AAA.
  5. Big Bad Bruin: On this date in 1970, Bobby Orr became the first defenseman in the history of the NHL to score 100 points in a single season. Orr finished the 1969-1970 season with 120 points, making him one of the best offensive defenders in NHL history.
