A Candy Thief Strikes, and N. Billerica Man Faces Charges

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the from Friday through Sunday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

Shawn A. Hicks, 21, of 37 Old Elm St., North Billerica, was arrested Saturday and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a license revoked as a habitual traffic offender, a miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violation, and possession of a Class E drug.

At 8:55 a.m., a Park Street resident reported that two windows may have been vandalized by BB gun shots.

At 2:19 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident at 97 Main St.

At 3:03 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident at Park Street and Oakland Road.

Saturday

At 1:26 a.m., a clerk at on Main Street reported a blond male wearing a black fleece, blue jeans and an earring grabbed a bunch of candy and left the store.

Sunday

At 2:04 a.m., a caller reported a man sitting on the stairs of a Main Street building for more than an hour. The subject then reportedly walked out of the building toward Main Street. Police were unable to locate the subject.

At 8:22 a.m., police received a report of an odor of gas coming from the rear of 133 Main St. The reported a severed gas line. The gas company was notified.

At 2:27 p.m., police received a report of a woman who picked up a MoneyGram transfer from as a payment for a delivery of wood. The woman later admitted to not delivering the wood and returned the money, according to police.

At 9:46 p.m., a resident reported hearing gunshots in the area of Francis Street. Police reported finding nothing upon arrival, but remained in the area.
