The Aftermath: What's Open and When on Wednesday

The kids are still out of school, but the rest of Reading will attempt to get back to normal.

For residents with kids in Reading Public Schools, Wednesday will still be a bit atypical since the schools are closed again on Jan. 28. For everyone else, however, things are starting to get back to normal.

Below is a snapshot of what you need to know on Wednesday.

Trash, recyling pickup

  • From the Reading town website: “Rubbish and recycling pickup scheduled for Tuesday through the remainder of the week will be delayed by one day.” Tuesday folks, Wednesday is your day.

Town offices:

  • Town Hall and the Pleasant Street Center will open at noon.

Reading Public Library

  • The library plans to be open from noon to 9 p.m.

To do:

  • Clear a three-foot area around any fire hydrants in your yard.
  • Clear snow from exhaust pipes of vehicles BEFORE starting them.
  • Clear snow from your furnace exhaust area.
  • Check on your neighbors.
