READING, MA — The theme of this year's summer reading program is "Reading Is Revolutionary."
"The United States turns 250 years old this summer with the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the Revolutionary War occurring," the Reading Public Library website reads. "We wanted our Summer Reading theme to reflect that monumental occasion while also celebrating how the written word played a large part in it."
The program is for kids ages 6 and up, teens, and adults. You can sign up online and pick up your booklet in-person starting June 22.
Those participating in the challenge can qualify for prizes.
