• 🏞️ Conservation Commission 8-26-26 AI Recap (readingrecap.com) — Reading's Conservation Commission just tackled several big local issues, from Parker Middle School's turf replacement and wetland protections to approvals at Forest Street, Norwood Avenue, and Johnson Woods Trail. Members also discussed MBTA culvert work near Mattera and Morgan, a sewage enforcement case on South Street, a stolen Bare Meadow sign, and elected Martha Moore as the next chair.
   

• Guide to the Charles M. Gates Papers (nps.gov) — Reading history buffs might appreciate that historian Charles M. Gates once taught at Reading High School in Reading before a long National Park Service and University of Washington career. A new National Park Service finding aid details his 1935–36 work correspondence, research, and reports on historic sites nationwide, now available to researchers at the NPS History Collection in West Virginia.
