Andover Choral Society presents Mozart and Schubert
Mozart's "Coronation Mass" and Schubert's "Mass No. 3 in B-flat Major" on May 14 at 7:30 pm, at St. Augustine's Parish in Andover.
The Andover Choral Society, directed by Michael Driscoll, celebrates its 86th season with Mozart's Coronation Mass and Schubert's Mass No. 3 in B-flat Major on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at Saint Augustine's Parish in Andover, MA.
Mozart's charming Coronation Mass is well loved by singers and audiences alike, and Schubert's Mass No. 3 in B-Flat Major is an outstanding work that has gained greater recognition in recent years. Director Michael Driscoll notes, "Schubert and Mozart were just eighteen and twenty-three years old, respectively, when they wrote the works on this program. Although these works were written over two centuries ago, the music still captivates performers and listeners of today.”
The chorus will be accompanied by a professional orchestra. The soloists will be soprano Sarah Moyer, mezzo-soprano Thea Lobo, tenor Eric Christopher Perry and baritone David McFerrin.
