Anita Murray Passes Away
Longtime Reading resident was a member of the Old South United Methodist Church.

Anita C. (Wilson) Murray, 88, a longtime former resident of Reading, passed away on Thursday evening, Feb. 22. She was the wife of the late Gerald R. Murray who died in 1978.
Born in Malden and raised in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Linwood, and the late Phyllis (Turner) Wilson. Anita was a graduate of Somerville High School. She had lived in Reading for 36 years before moving to Landmark at Oceanview in Beverly several years ago.
Anita was a faithful and devoted longtime member of the Old South United Methodist Church in Reading. She had sung in the Old South Church Choir for many years, and was Past-President of the United Methodist Women.
Anita is survived by two sons, Kenneth L. Murray and his wife Jeanne of Newburyport, Mark G. Murray and his wife Anna of Gotha, Florida; and one daughter, Cynthia Goodwin and her husband Keith of Reading. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at the Forest Glen Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anita’s memory may be made to the Old South United Methodist Church, 6 Salem St., Reading, Ma., 01867. Arrangements by the Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home, Reading.
