Austin Prep Seeded No. 9 in Super 8 Field; Girls No. 7 in Division 1

Austin Prep was selected to participate in the Super 8 hockey tournament Saturday morning, just making the cut as the No. 9 seed.

The bottom four seeds in the 10-team field will square off Monday at the Chelmsford Forum with the winners securing a spot in the eight-team field. The Cougars will play Marshfield Monday. If AP loses they drop into the Division 1 North Tournament. In the other play-in game, No. 7 Walpole will face No. 10 Catholic Memorial.

Austin Prep was the only Catholic Central team chosen this year.

The defending state champion girls team earned the No. 7 seed at 13-3-2 and will face No. 10 Braintree (13-6-1) in the first round. Day, site, and time are TBA.
