Bill Marcinkowski Passes Away

Longtime Reading resident served in the US Navy.

William Leonard Marcinkowski, 95, a longtime resident of Summit Towers in Reading and affectionately known as Uncle Bill by his many nephews and nieces, died on Saturday May 26.

Born in Chelsea on July 28, 1922, a son of the late Felix Adam and Alexandra (Jakubczyk) Marcinkowski. He was brother to Edward, Tony, Michael, and Helen. He attended Chelsea High School and served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1946 as a Aviation Machinist's Mate Second Class. He was employed by High Voltage Engineering and later Brandeis University as a purchasing agent.

He was pre-deceased by his wife Ida (Tremblay) Marcinkowski of 56 years whom he lovingly cared for later in her life. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Bill's family at the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (Rt. 28) Stoneham, on Wednesday, May 30th from 11 am to 1 pm. Immediately following the visitation, funeral will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel at 1 pm. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Everett.
