Bob Gilligan Passes Away

Tewksbury resident was a member of the Reading High class of 1962.

Robert “Bob” “Gilly” Gilligan, 73, of Tewksbury passed away on Sunday March 11. He was the son of the late Tom and Julia Gilligan of Reading.

In addition to his wife Linda, Bob will be deeply missed by his three children Dawn Eisnor-Brown of Reading, Dean Gilligan of Tewksbury and Debbie O’Neill and her husband Michael of Tewksbury. He leaves behind his Step-children Melissa Albano Davis and Christopher Albano, his three siblings, Betty Jane of Dade City, Fl, Tom of Zephyrhills, FL, and John of Alton Bay, NH, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren.

Bob grew up in Reading, MA and graduated from Reading Memorial High School in 1962. He joined the United States Marine Corps where he obtained the rank of Sargent. He was a lifetime pipefitter with Local 537 in Boston and the Owner of C.G. Bostwick, Inc. Bob was known for his expertise in the piping industry on both a local and national level and was a proud member of the New England Mechanical Contractors Association and very active in the Pipefitter’s Training Center.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 17 at 9 am at the First Congregational Church 25 Woburn St, in Reading. Burial with military honors will follow at Forest Glen Cemetery in Reading. There are no visiting hours.
