Reading

Bunratty Tavern Plans August Opening

Though initially hoping for a May opening, Bunratty Tavern owners Eilish and Jim Havey is now eyeing an August opening for their eatery in the M.F. Charles Building, 622 Main St.

The process has been slower than expected and work is still needed on the interior, exterior and the patio area.

Burlington

High-End Steak House Opening in Northwest Park 

The Webber Restaurant Group, which owns the Gibbet Hill Grill in Groton, the Scarlet Oak Tavern in Hingham, and Fireside Catering in Burlington, will soon open a new high-end steak house as part of the 3rd Avenue Northwest Park complex.

The restaurant will be The Bancroft, which will have seasonal, locally-sourced menu options. Nordblom Company, which owns the property, said the restaurant will appeal to the youthful, urban crowd.

North Reading

Local Dunkin’ Donuts Getting a Makeover

The Dunkin’ Donuts on Main Street near the Andover line is closed for two weeks as the eatery undergoes a facelift.

The coffee shop will have a new drive-through window and the outdoor landscaped area will be converted to a patio with seating for 19 people, Marketing Manager Theresa Forte said.

The interior will also be remodeled. The shop will feature seating for 29 guests with interior booths, large flat-screen televisions and free Wi-Fi.

In other coffee shop news, Starbucks is renovating the former Sunrise Bagels on Main Street and hopes to open a new Starbucks at that location this summer. That will give North Reading three coffee shop chains.

Ginger Gourmet Opens

Ginger Gourmet opened in the Stop & Shop plaza.

The menu features Chinese and Japanese food, including a sushi bar and full sushi menu.

There is another Ginger Gourmet location in Wilmington.

Woburn

Local Moms Crafting Sweet Treats Right From Home

Nicole Falsetti, of Woburn, has teamed up with Jess Calderara, of Windham, NH, to build a new bakery business.

Sensationally Sweet Cupcakes & Other Baked Goods began in January 2013 right out of Calderara's kitchen.

Though the bakery is located in New Hampshire, customers will be able to pick up orders in Woburn.
