Bus Application Deadline Approaching
District is seeing if there is enough ridership for a bus for students who live closer to schools.

The deadline for submitting bus applications is fast approaching.
July 31 is the deadline for the bus applications for the Killam, Coolidge, Parker, and HIgh Schools.
In order to provide a bus option for non-mandated students (those who live two miles or less from the school) at those schools, the district will have to have enough paid ridership to cover the cost of the bus.

The parent paid bus to transport students in the morning and afternoon will be $450 per student per school year with no family cap.
The district will also not be able to provide a one-way ticket for half price.

The forms for the ridership applications are on the Reading schools websites.
District officials will notify all parents by August 5 if there was not enough interest in a parent paid bus and any amount paid will be fully refunded.
