Car Strikes Deer, Deer and Driver Leave Scene

The following is a look at calls handled by the from Wednesday afternoon through Friday afternoon. The information is open to the public.
Wednesday
At 6:35 p.m., a caller reported striking a deer on Haverhill Street near . The deer ran from the scene. Police were unable to locate the caller on arrival.

At 6:57 p.m., police assisted the in responding to a fire outdoors near a Marblehead Street residence.
At 7:20 p.m., police received a 911 call from a female who indicated past abuse to her and her 12-year-old dog. The caller was crying and upset. Police advised her to come to the station to talk in person.

At 9:49 p.m., a caller requested assistance accessing a U-Haul truck she rented. She deposited the keys in the night drop-off slot when she realized she left her pocketbook in the truck. The fire department responded and assisted.
Thursday
At 6:37 a.m., a Lindor Road resident reported that her golden retriever slipped out of its collar while she was taking it for a walk. The caller later reported to police that the dog returned home.
At 5:54 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident at the intersection of Park and Main streets.
Friday
At 8 a.m., police responded to an . A 1994 Mack dump truck rolled over. The driver, Larry Lucchetti, 55, of 21 Green St., Newton, was cited for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, license not in possession, and speeding.
At 1:58 p.m., a man came to the police station and reported that someone opened a Capital One card in his name with his Social Security number sometime in November. Nothing was charged to the card and the man has taken the appropriate steps with credit agencies.
