
Charles B. Powers of Reading, MA passed away at his home on December 15, 2017. He was 88.
The son of Henry Wilson and Elizabeth (Haley), Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Barbara Ann (Cassely) and their 8 children: Eileen (Chris), Dennis (Cathi), Frederick (Theresa), Brenda (Michael), Suzanne, Stephen (Kristin), Charlie Jr. (Amy), and Andrea (Bob), as well as his 16 grandchildren and sister, Carole Reddish.
Charlie was a lifelong Reading resident. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and graduated from Dean Academy and Boston College. He started his career with the FBI, followed by a long tenure with the IRS, concluding with 15 years of service at the MA Dept. of Revenue. He was an avid runner completing numerous Boston Marathons.

His funeral will be held from the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Thursday, December 21 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 10:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Forest Glen Cemetery in Reading. Funeral home visiting hours will be Wednesday Dec. 20, 2017 from 4-8 p.m.
