Creative Arts Welcomes New Suzuki Violin Teacher, Marybeth Mackay

The Board of Directors, teachers and staff of Creative Arts are pleased to welcome Marybeth Mackay as a Suzuki Violin teacher. She is accepting new students on Monday afternoons and Saturday mornings and is looking forward to sharing her passion for music with students of all ages.

Marybeth MacKay’s study of the violin began at an early age through the Suzuki Method. She graduated from Ithaca College where she studied with Calvin Wiersma while exploring the intersection of music and healing through an independent concentration in Creative Arts Therapy. Marybeth has used music in eldercare and special education settings to analyze the correspondence between health and music. Marybeth integrates her training in both the Suzuki and Music Together methods into her approach to music education. Furthermore, she has performed extensively around New England, France, Scotland, and the Middle East while enjoying playing classical, bluegrass, Scottish, and Middle Eastern styles. Marybeth also works as an ABA Therapist and violin teacher in the Greater Boston Area.

Creative Arts is a nonprofit community school for the arts (located in Reading center) dedicated to fostering a passion for the musical, theatrical and visual arts by providing exceptional instruction to a diverse population of students. Founded in 1978 by a group of parents wishing to offer music education not available in schools at the time, Creative Arts has grown to offer year-round private instruction in over two dozen instruments (including Suzuki and traditional methods), theater productions and classes, and a variety of visual art classes for children and adults. We are currently enrolling students in classes including visual art, theatre and music. Private music lessons are available year-round for all ages.
