Disputes With Plows, and Snowball-Throwing Youths
This is an excerpt from the North Reading police log for Feb. 1-3.

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the from Tuesday through Thursday morning. The information is open to the public.
Tuesday
At 1:47 p.m., police received a report of a plow striking the mirror of a vehicle on Valley Road.

At 1:58 p.m., police received a report of loose dogs on Main Street by the . The dogs’ owner came to claim his dogs.
At 4:30 p.m., police received a report of a plow striking the mirror of a car on Yankee Lane.

At 8:11 p.m., police received a report of a “young man lying in the roadway at Poplar Terrace near Burroughs Road.” Police said everything appeared in order upon arrival.
Wednesday
At 12:44 a.m., police received a report of a small silver vehicle driving up and down Southwick Road, which seemed suspicious. Police checked the area and were unable to locate the vehicle.
At 8:32 a.m., police received a report of a resident blowing snow into the roadway from his driveway and having verbal arguments with plow drivers. Police spoke with all parties involved, and all appeared satisfied, police reported.
At 10:39 a.m., police assisted the fire department with a Gillis Road resident who caught his hand in a snow blower and was bleeding heavily. The man was transported to Lahey Clinic.
At 2:16 p.m., police received a report of three youths throwing snowballs at passing cars on Haverhill Street.
At 4:44 p.m., police received a report of a dispute between a resident and a plow operator, who reported that the resident threatened him with a 2-by-4 piece of wood. According to police, the resident claimed a plow truck working for the town damaged his light post at the front of his property. Police reported that he was unhappy with the way his complaint was handled, and an argument ensued. The light post was valued at approximately $200, police reported. Police also advised the resident about how to handle future complaints.
At 6:28 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Main Street near the Reading line.
At 6:47 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute.
Thursday
At 6:56 a.m., police responded to a report of a 67-year-old female who slipped and fell on ice, and hurt her shoulder at the on Park Street. The Post Office was aware of the ice and was attempting to take precautionary measures, police reported.
