Dozens of Local Leaders Endorse Senator Lewis For Re‐Election

MALDEN ‐‐‐‐ Over 60 current and former elected officials from around the Fifth Middlesex District have endorsed State Senator Jason Lewis for re‐election, citing his consistent and passionate advocacy for the needs and priorities of the towns and cities of the district.

“Senator Lewis has distinguished himself as a leader who cares about the communities he represents,” said Malden Mayor Gary Christenson. “He has worked hard for Malden by supporting local projects like our downtown revitalization and in delivering aid and funding for our city and schools. I look forward to our continued partnership and work together.”

“Senator Lewis has been a strong partner for Melrose and very responsive to our needs and concerns,” said Melrose Mayor Gail Infurna . “His leadership on Beacon Hill has made a real difference for our community. I’m pleased to support his re‐election.”

“As a school committee member and parent of children who attended the Reading public schools, I care deeply about our schools and I know that Senator Lewis does too,” said Reading School Committee member Elaine Webb . “He has been a strong leader on efforts to reform the state’s school funding formula so that all school districts get fair and adequate funding, and all students have access to a high quality education.”

“Since he began his service in the state legislature in 2009, Jason Lewis has been a strong advocate on issues that are important to the residents of his district and he has brought unprecedented funding back to his communities,” said Stoneham Select Board member Shelly MacNeill . “Even more importantly, Jason is my choice for State Senate because he has consistently demonstrated his willingness to sit with me and have open honest dialogue about my concerns."
