Early Morning Meeting for Board

There will be no sleeping in for selectmen this Saturday.

A board meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. The only item on the agenda is a discussion of the Reading 2020 working groups.

The Reading 2020 working groups were formed following a 2014 Saturday retreat by selectmen and town department heads to come up with an action plan for the future of the town.

Four working groups were formally formed, consisting of selectmen and department heads, to help create a vision for the town over the coming five years.

Those groups are Community partners, which looks at how the town can work with other organizations; service and performance measurement; communication, which looks at the best ways to reach out to the community; and strategic planning.

The meeting will be held in the conference room of the Town Hall at 16 Lowell St.
