Ellis-Williams Reaches Milestone and More
A look at all the local sports action from the past week.

HOCKEY
RMHS boys: After failing to find the net during the first two games of the young season, the Reading High boys hockey team finally found the winning formula this week and recorded wins against Xaverian Brothers and Wilmington High. The Rockets picked a nice time to break the goose egg next to the win column, as they handed the always tough Xaverian Hawks a 3-1 loss on Dec. 19 in a road game. That win doubtless stood the Rockets in good stead for their next game, as wins against Catholic Conference teams are hard enough to come by. Never mind road wins. Either way, to slip past the one of the newest additions to the Middlesex League, Wilmington, at Burbank Ice Arena on a third-period winner from sophomore Jake Barbera. Brian Shea and Rob Devaney also potted goals during the win.
Reading is now 2-1-1 overall on the season.

The Lady Rockets , on Dec. 20, led by Olivia Healy and Morgan O’Brien, who each netted 15 points in the win. Next up was Wilmington on Dec. 23, and the Wildcats proved no match for the veteran Lady Rockets and were duly ran off the court, 72-41.
