EMass Senior Softball Registration Is Open

Take it from an aging third baseman, you're never too old to play softball.

If you're 50 or older and love slow-pitch softball, the EMass Senior Softball League is now open for registration for its 2018 season. No matter your skill level, you'll find a spot in one or more of the five divisions. All teams in every division play one double-header every week of the season from April to October. Last year more than 400 players competed in umpired games on well-maintained fields, representing 100-plus cities and towns across the state. Games are held in Wayland, Framingham, and Ashland.

The five divisions include:

American -- Games on Saturday, most highly skilled players, 50 and over

National -- Saturday, players of all abilities, 50 and over

Pacific -- Mondays, highly skilled players, 50 and over

Atlantic -- Tuesdays/Thursdays, mid-level players, 55 and older

Metro -- Wednesday/Fridays, players of all abilities, 65 and older.

Membership is $25 per year with Saturday divisions costing $165, weekday divisions $135. For more information or to sign up, go to www.e-mass.org.
