Enrollment still open for Salem State's Middle School Band Camp

The Salem State University music departmentis still accepting applicants for its2015 Middle School Band Camp (MSBC), which will be heldJuly 27-31. The MSBC is the only Boston-area camp to offer instruction to middle school band students. The camp is open to rising sixth graders through eighth graders. All ability levels are welcome; however, campers should have at least one year of school instruction on their instrument or equivalent.

Camp participants will have the opportunity to learn from Salem State University faculty members and area music educators. Students will participate in a variety of large and small performance ensembles, lessons and classes that will enhance their technical ability on their instrument, their music learning and their leadership skills. Along with the music activities, student will participate in an array of planned activities that will enhance their camp experience. The camp will conclude with a public concert on July 31 at 7:30 pm.

Registration fee for the camp is $425, with the option to enroll in private lessons for an additional fee. Registration deadline is July 7.
