Autumn Special Lunch with Lizzie Borden

The suggested donation for lunch is $1.50 for seniors.

After lunch, join us for a live production of "Lizzie Borden and the 40 Whacks." On a scorching hot day in Fall River, Massachusetts, in August of 1892, a heinous crime occurred. Spinster Lizzie Borden was accused, tried, and acquitted for the vicious axe murders of her father and stepmother. This true unsolved mystery has fascinated people to this day. Two people died on that day in 1892, but Lizzie continues to live on in American folklore.

The performance includes a mock trial that invites the audience to participate by questioning Lizzie, her maid, and her prosecuting as well as defense attorney and deciding her guilt or innocence, and imparting a sentence, if appropriate. This "edutainment" production features two actors in multiple roles depicting Lizzie's story and educating the audience members so that they may become informed "jurists". Did she or didn't she? Let the audience be the judge!
