On Saturday October 30, a special 2 hour (10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) Adult Education Seminar will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Reading (239 Woburn Street, Reading, MA) in Fellowship Hall (entrance off of Summer Avenue) to discuss Enneagrams. This discussion of Enneagrams is presented as part of an ongoing series of sessions that explore the concept of IKIGAI (an historic concept and culturally important Japanese term translated variously as "seeking purpose and satisfaction with advancing life" or "A life worth living") in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Reading's Adult Education Program.
This event is open to anyone living in Reading or surrounding communities – all are welcome. If you are interested and plan to attend this event, please respond by email to IKIGAI_Registration@verizon.net, or call the church office (781-944-0494) and leave a message with your name, to help us know how many to expect at this session.
WHAT ARE ENNEAGRAMS?

The Enneagram is an ancient psycho-spiritual framework that offers a simple and powerful world view for understanding yourself and others from the inside out. In alignment with all spiritual systems, it reveals that there are various kinds of people in the world, each of which pay attention to and are motivated by fundamentally different concerns (in the Enneagram framework there are 3 broad types, Thinkers, Feelers, and Perceivers, each with 3 subdivisions leading to 9 personality types). Each type of individual brings great gifts and challenges to the world. But on a deeper level, each is at times driven by various fears which express themselves through compulsion and automatic behavior. If we could know ourselves better and thereby change our relationship with these types of fears, we can truly become freer, more compassionate human beings and live fuller, richer lives.
