Creative Arts, your local community school for the Arts, will hold a figure drawing workshop on Saturday, April 30th from 10:30am-12:30pm. The goal is to establish a figure drawing group that meets monthly. Many local artists, including members of Reading Art Association, have requested that Creative Arts establish a local, regular figure drawing group to avoid traveling to North Andover, Lawrence or Medford.
The Figure Drawing Workshop is open to all skill levels and mediums and monitored by artist and teacher Dennis Hart. The workshop will take attendees from short gesture studies to longer, sustained poses with a live model. It is a perfect opportunity to practice drawing and painting fundamentals using the medium of your choice in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Students in high school (ages 16-18) are encouraged to participate, as many college art programs require figure work and gesture pieces as part of the application portfolio.
