“For Your Inspiration” is a singing group comprised of 25 junior and senior high school students, visiting from the First United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. They will be performing Godspell. Their mission as a group is to “bear witness to Christ through music and praise the Lord with song.” Their concert will be a fundraiser for our church and the proceeds collected that night will go to the Old South’s Close the Gap fund, which has been created to address our church’s serious 2012 budget shortfalls.
Godspell is a musical by Stephen Schwartz and John-Michael Tebelak. It opened Off Broadway in 1971, and a revival is playing on Broadway now. The musical is a series of parables, based on the Gospel of Matthew and Luke, set to modern music.
