What happens when a history teacher channels his passion for history into a career as a writer? Dr. Jeffrey Ryan, a history teacher at RMHS, has written A Volcano Heard Afar, a novel about Spain in 1936, the attempt of the fascists to gain control, and one man’s attempt to stop them.
Named Massachusetts Teacher of the Year in 2003, the author will speak about his novel which was published by Dorrance Publishing Co. in August 2010. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
