Music Therapy

The Reading Recreation Division is pleased to continue its partnership with The Arc of East Middlesex.   Please contact Arc Recreation Director, Chenine Johnson at (781) 942-4888 Ext.  14036 to inquire about the many Arc programs offered.  Together we are able to enhance the overall recreational experience for children and young adults with special needs.   All Arc activities are handicap accessible.  

Music Therapy for Ages 3 - 7 

Are you ready to make some music?  We will use the fun and motivation of music to address the social, behavioral and sensory goals of participants. Children will be singing, playing a variety of instruments and moving to the music as they engage in supportive and therapeutic music making.  Goals may include increasing communication skills, turn taking, joint attention and learning songs that can carry-over into the home.  Parent participation is required – This is not a drop off program.   

Dates: Thursdays 

Session I: Jan. 13th — Feb. 17th 

Session II: Mar. 3rd—Apr. 14th (no class Mar. 31st) 

Session III: Apr. 28th – June 2nd 

Time: 3:45—4:35 PM 

Location: 20 Gould Street, Reading @ EMARC 

Fee:  $150 / 6 weeks 

Class will be led by Holly Rand, MT-BC
