Event Spotlight: Stress and Anxiety Lecture at High School Today

RMHS is pleased to bring Dr. Robert Macy, a stress and anxiety specialist, into the school tonight for a special lecture.

There will be a presentation tonight at 7:00 p.m. at RMHS Performing Arts Center featuring Dr. Robert Macy. Dr. Macy will speak on stress and anxiety as it impacts every family in some way. He will share indicators to look for and strategies for addressing it. Dr. Macy is considered to be an expert in his field and was recently named as one of only 12 members for the U.S. Attorney General’s National Task Force on Children Exposed to Violence.

Dr. Macy is a Founder and Director of the International Center for Disaster Resilience‐Boston, and the Founder and Executive Director of The Boston Children’s Foundation, also in Boston. He is also a pioneer in the field of psychological trauma, psychosocial recovery and resiliency in research, interventions and violence prevention initiatives for children, youth, their families, adults and their communities exposed to traumatic events including large‐scale disasters, terrorist events, and political, community and armed conflict violence.

Dr. Macy is an Instructor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Macy also designs, implements and evaluates trauma focused psychosocial resiliency initiatives and violence prevention programs, in the United States, Europe, Middle East, Eurasia and Africa.
