Event Spotlight: Winter Festival at Stoneham Theatre Featuring Young Company

Area residents participate in a special theater event.

The Stoneham Theatre is proud to present twelve days of youth theatre featuring actors in grades 1 through 12 from all over Massachusetts.

Stoneham Theatre’s Young Company presents Twists on Old Tales! Winter Festival with Once Upon A Mattress, Disney’s Beauty And The Beast, and Into The Woods.

The Festival runs from February 1 through 12. Tickets per performance are the price of regular admission at $10 in advance, $15 after February 1. Kids and Students always just $10.

Synopsis:
Everyone can't wait for the newest royal wedding; the aggravating Queen Aggravain has declared no one may marry before her son, the very daunted Prince Dauntless. Enter the most unlikely princess: Winnifred, a girl from the swamps who is anything but "Shy;" it's the role that made Carol Burnett famous! Audience members of all ages will delight in this rollicking retelling of “The Princess and the Pea.”

Synopsis:
This "Tale as Old as Time" follows the classic story of a young woman, Belle, who dreams for something outside of her small town life. But when an unfortunate encounter whisks her away to the castle of a grizzled Beast, she is forced to turn her energy towards the characters who surround her, and see their true beauty within. This Broadway hit features all the beloved songs from the animated film; what a great chance for the entire family to sing-a-long!
