Northern Bank and Eastern Bank are gold sponsors at the Faire

Reading, MA, September 7, 2018 – Northern Bank and Eastern Bank are adding more gold to the excitement of the Reading Fall Street Faire on Sunday, September 9, from noon to 5 pm.

“The Street Faire Sponsor Committee continues to do an outstanding job in securing gold sponsors from not only Reading, but also other communities,” said Event Co-Chair Sheila Clarke.

Northern Bank and Eastern Bank join other gold sponsors -- Beacon Consulting and CTA Consulting, Lahey Health, Pediatric Dental Associates, Salem Five and Sartell Electric.

Founded in 1818 and celebrating its 200th anniversary in 2018, Eastern Bank is America’s oldest and largest mutual bank, with $11 billion in assets and over 120 locations serving communities in Reading and elsewhere in eastern Massachusetts, southern and coastal New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Eastern provides exceptional access to fairly priced banking, investment and insurance products and services for consumers and businesses of all sizes, and for the eighth consecutive year is the Number One U.S. Small Business Administration lender in New England. Based in Boston, Eastern Bank, which includes Eastern Wealth Management and Eastern Insurance, is known for its outspoken advocacy and community support that has exceeded more than $110 million in charitable giving since 1999. The Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation is a leader in corporate philanthropy and serves as the charitable arm of Eastern Bank. An inclusive company, Eastern employs 1,900+ deeply committed professionals who value relationships with their customers, colleagues and communities.

“Doing good things that help people prosper has been core to Eastern’s purpose for 200 years,” said Muhammad Khan, Branch Manager of the Eastern Bank location at 123 Haven Street in Reading. “That’s why we’re excited to sponsor the Street Faire and to have a part in celebrating what makes Reading a special community.”

Northern Bank Assistant Vice President and Reading Branch Manager Virginia Yeanacopolis (Ginnie) is looking forward to being a sponsor for the Street Faire. Northern Bank takes an entrepreneurial, commonsense approach to providing a complete line of banking and investment solutions. Ginnie is on the board of the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce.

“The Faire gives us the opportunity to talk to people about our mission. We are deeply invested in the communities we serve and passionately committed to helping our customers grow,” said Ginnie. “Like the many entrepreneurs we serve, our passion is growing our business the right way, one customer, one relationship at a time, in it for the long term.”

Event Co-Chair Gregg Johnson encourages Readingites to come to downtown on Sunday to enjoy this family-friendly event and to re-acquaint with friends, neighbor, local politicians and local businesses after the summer recess.
