ICYMI: Fall Street Faire to Include New Events

This year's festivities are scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13.

The Reading Fall Street Faire is slated for this Sunday, Sept. 13 from noon to 5 p.m., and is expected to be the biggest one to date.

“I am excited about the success of this annual tradition, and we are thrilled with the great response we have gotten from both our vendors and the community for this event,” said The Fall Street Faire Committee Chair, Brian Snell.

This event boasts large crowds and is family friendly, with many activities that are free or low cost. Vendors are encouraged to sign up online next week at www.readingfallstreetfaire.com, as after August 15th there will be a late fee for all vendors and presenters.

This year’s event will feature two stages, live entertainment, music, food and food trucks, and unique vendors.

New this year are additional inflatable and children’s activities, a “touch-a-truck” area where families can explore trucks and construction equipment and this year will also feature Reading’s “Green” 5K sponsored by PureFit of Reading.

The Fall Street Five-K is a wholesome, community-based road race.

Registration for the race is also open at the Fall Street Faire website, www.readingfallstreetfaire.com. A pre-race warm up will be offered by PureFit Reading Staff. The race will be held in the morning on September 13 in advance of the Fall Street Faire, and it begins and ends at Washington Street Park, located at 100 Washington Street in Reading.

The Fall Street Faire is run almost entirely by dedicated volunteers, and additional volunteer and support both in the planning and during the day of the event is most welcome.

Volunteer sign ups may also be found on the event website or by emailing rfsfvolunteer@yahoo.com.
