FBI Searching for Reading's 'Spelling Bee Bandit'

The same man is believed to be responsible for three similar robberies over the last two weeks.

Earlier this month, a man robbed the TD Bank at 470 Main St. in Reading. The same man is believed to be responsible for three similar robberies over the last two weeks.

In each case, according to an FBI Wanted poster, the white man in his 30s or 40s entered the bank, put on sunglasses, and wrote "Robery" [sic] on the back of a withdrawal slip, and passed it to the teller.

According to the FBI, the suspect has grown increasingly aggressive with each robbery.

The robberies occurred Oct. 31, Nov.5, Nov. 7, and Nov. 13, in Arlington, Reading, Burlington, and Peabody.

The man is described as slim, between 5'1" and 6'2" with dark hair and a "local accent." At the Reading robbery the man, pictured above, was wearing a gray hooded Champion sweatshirt and jeans.

The MassMostWanted Tip Program is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information should call 857-386-2000
