Fourth Grader Acts as Barrows' Principal of the Day
Emma Aiello won the opportunity through a PTO raffle.
Barrows Elementary fourth-grader Emma Aiello spent Monday, April 13 in the principal’s office.
No, she wasn’t in trouble. Quite the opposite, actually. On Monday, Aiello served as Barrows’ Principal of the Day after winning the opportunity through a PTO raffle.
Aiell’s day on administrative duty included visiting classrooms as a guest reader, supporting students and leading community activities, according to an announcement from the school. She also took part in a Wellness Committee meeting, spoke during morning announcements, invited friends to her office for lunch, helped serve lunches and supported students at recess.

Not wanting to leave her fellow students out of the fun, Aiello granted everyone an extra block of recess Monday.
The day also included time for Aiello to write a letter to the PTO requesting funds for safer recess equipment.
